Hello loved ones!
I bet you are surprised to be getting an email from me on Friday. Well my schedule has been changed around due to starting this last Wednesday I am now finishing off my MTC stay with special Visitors' Center training. I cannot even express how lucky I feel to be a VC(visitors center) sister. We were surprised yesterday with a field trip to temple square. We knew that we were going to be able to go this Saturday(tomorrow) but found out on Wed that we get to go both days; one day for playing the role of the visitor, the other day for playing the role of the VC missionary. Our trip yesterday was as a visitor. Getting the chance to think from the visitors view while being shown around by a sister was AWESOME! I thought that I was excited last week about going to Missouri...this week feels like ten times more!
On a bit of a sad note all of our elders left on Wednesday. We miss them very much and pray for them often. I have come to the realization that the priesthood and what elders can bring is so very important.
There is a new program that just started this year. All of you please visit mormon.org and try the chat feature. More than likely you will be chatting with a missionary, although they will be using their first name as a security measure. As a VC sister each week we get to chat online with people from all over the world about the gospel. This tool has already helped many, many people come unto Christ and continues to do so. We also get to answer calls that come in, although people tend start up chats more than to call in. So if I get to chat and talk to people all over the world, what does that mean? Oh YES! That my actual area is the WHOLE WORLD!!! Ha ha! Funny and TRUE! I feel so blessed to get to do this.
Another point that I learned this week is how lucky VC missionaries are to have people come to us. The Lord sends people are way who have been prepared to hear His message. The way that we teach has to be modified because usually we have less time and cannot really set up a time to come and visit them because during the busy season most people are from out of state or country. BUT we do have these awesome referral cards that help so much if presented to visitors in a loving and open way. I have come to have such a stronger testimony in sharing the gospel with those that I know and love as well as those that I have never really met. For those we already do know and love, what greater gift is there than the gospel? Is there ANYTHING that could allow them to be happier? I submit that there is not! Please dear loved ones, ponder in your hearts those around you and remember to at least once a week share a bit of your testimony to someone close to you, whether member or not. The Lord WILL bless you for your efforts, I can promise you this and your testimony of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will grow into more than you ever dreamed it could be.
Yesterday while in class we were talking about the importance of at the Visitors' Center letting people ponder and walk around if they showed a desire to do so. I was thinking about how often I do this and came up with the idea to "wander and ponder". This means taking time out of your busy day to wander on God's beautiful earth and to ponder on the divine, or even to ponder on whatever your heart desires. Father in Heaven gave us beautiful minds and in the scriptures he says "let us come reason together". I am commiting myself to take Him up on this scripture and to reason with the Lord on the limitless subjects there are available. Let us "wander and ponder", it shall do our hearts good and we shall be more prepared to teach our Father's children on a daily basis whether by word or example.
Now a quick funny story(surprise, surprise right? ha ha!). Well the other day my roommates and I had gotten sack lunches and brought them back to our rooms. WELL I was asked to bless them and in the middle of the blessing I said "We are so grateful to be well fed and well res...well...well?...well...um...well...we are well..." What I had started to say was that we are well rested, but I did not want to lie to the Lord and so I said this jumble of wells. The sisters and I laughed for seriously at least fifteen minutes! I love all of them SO much!
1 Nephi 17:15 Think of this as if Nephi is exhorting you :D
I love you all! When I email again I shall be in Missouri!
Love,
